KELOWNA LUXURY HOME — MASTER BATH TILE

THE CHALLENGE

Designer specced 24"×48" book-matched marble-look porcelain panels for the shower feature wall — extremely unforgiving tile that shows every imperfection in the substrate. House also wanted heated floors.

THE SOLUTION

Schluter Ditra-Heat membrane over the bathroom floor for the heat system. Substrate prep within 1/16" tolerance over the entire shower wall using a layered cement-board system. Tiles back-buttered, set with a large-tile mortar, and book-matched precisely so the veining flowed continuously across the panels.

• Schluter Kerdi-Board substrate
• Mapei Ultraflex LFT mortar
• Mapei Ultracolor Plus FA grout (1/16" lines)

Bathroom landed in a regional design publication. Designer has booked us for two more high-end builds.
