EPOXY GARAGE FLOORS KELOWNA
Becker Flooring recently invested in a professional-grade epoxy floor system to bring this stunning, durable finish to garages, basements, and commercial spaces across Kelowna and the Okanagan. A properly installed epoxy floor is mirror-smooth, chemical-resistant, and built to last decades.
DIAMOND-GROUND SURFACE PREP
The #1 reason epoxy floors fail is bad surface prep. We diamond-grind every concrete surface to open the pores so the epoxy bonds mechanically — not just sits on top. Acid etching alone (the cheap method) leads to peeling within a year.
METALLIC, FLAKE & SOLID COLOUR SYSTEMS
Metallic gives you that swirling, three-dimensional showroom look. Flake (chip) systems give a textured, slip-resistant surface in any colour combination. Solid colour is clean and industrial. We do all three.
POLYASPARTIC TOPCOAT
Our systems finish with a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat. This is what makes the floor truly durable — UV-stable means no yellowing, hot-tire-pickup resistant, chemical resistant, and it cures fast enough to drive on within 24 hours.
WHERE EPOXY WORKS
Garages (the obvious one), basements, workshops, gyms, showrooms, restaurant kitchens, retail floors, mechanical rooms, salons. Anywhere you want a hard, easy-to-clean, dust-proof surface.
Common Questions
FAQ — EPOXY FLOOR COATING
How much does an epoxy garage floor cost in Kelowna?
Most full-flake epoxy systems with polyaspartic topcoat run $8–$12 per square foot installed in the Kelowna area. A standard 2-car garage (~500 sq ft) is typically $4,000–$6,000. We provide fixed-price quotes after seeing the slab.
How long does an epoxy floor install take?
A standard 2-car garage takes 2 days: day one for grinding, repairs, and base coat; day two for flake broadcast and polyaspartic topcoat. You can walk on it after 24 hours and drive on it after 48–72 hours.
Will epoxy crack or peel?
Not when installed on properly prepped concrete with the right product. Cheap roll-on epoxy from a hardware store kit will fail in a year. A professional diamond-ground, full-thickness flake system with polyaspartic topcoat will last 10–20+ years.
Can you do epoxy in winter in Kelowna?
Yes — garage temperature needs to be above the product's minimum cure temp (usually 10°C / 50°F). For unheated garages we schedule epoxy work between April and October.
