TILE INSTALLATION KELOWNA
Tile installation is unforgiving work — every cut, every grout line, every level reading matters. Becker Flooring installs porcelain, ceramic, and natural stone tile throughout the Okanagan with the precision the work demands.
LARGE FORMAT TILE SPECIALTY
Modern designs are pushing tile sizes to 24"x48" and bigger. These tiles require dead-flat substrates (1/8" tolerance over 10 ft), back-buttering, and the right thinset. Done wrong they crack or lippage shows. We do them right.
HEATED FLOOR SYSTEMS
We install electric heated floor membranes (Schluter Ditra-Heat, NuHeat, etc.) under tile in bathrooms and kitchens. Programmable thermostat, even heat distribution, no more cold tile floors in winter.
NATURAL STONE (MARBLE, TRAVERTINE, SLATE)
Natural stone requires sealing, proper handling, and slower installation than ceramic. It's also stunning when done well. We've installed marble feature walls, travertine showers, and slate entryways throughout the Okanagan.
Common Questions
FAQ — TILE & STONE INSTALLATION
How much does tile installation cost in Kelowna?
Labour typically runs $7–$15 per square foot for tile in the Kelowna area, depending on tile size, pattern complexity, and substrate prep needed. Large format and natural stone are at the top of that range.
How long does a bathroom tile install take?
A typical full bathroom (floor, shower, surround) takes 4–6 days including waterproofing, tile setting, grouting, and sealing. We don't cut corners on cure times.
Do I need an uncoupling membrane like Schluter Ditra?
For most tile floors over wood subfloors, yes. It prevents subfloor movement from cracking the tile or grout. We use it as standard practice.
