LAMINATE FLOORING KELOWNA
Modern laminate looks remarkably like real hardwood — at a fraction of the cost. Becker Flooring installs all major laminate brands across the Okanagan with proper underlayment, expansion gaps, and clean transitions.
WEAR RATINGS EXPLAINED (AC3 – AC5)
AC3 is fine for moderate residential use. AC4 handles heavy residential and light commercial. AC5 is built for full commercial traffic. We help you match the wear rating to how the room actually gets used — there's no point paying for AC5 in a guest bedroom.
CLICK-LOCK FLOATING INSTALL
Modern laminate uses a click-lock floating system that sits over (not glued to) the subfloor on top of an underlayment. Done correctly, with proper expansion gaps around walls and at transitions, it lasts 15–25 years and never squeaks or pops.
WATER-RESISTANT & WATERPROOF OPTIONS
Newer laminates have water-resistant or fully waterproof cores, making them viable for kitchens and even some bathrooms. We'll walk you through the trade-offs vs. luxury vinyl plank if water exposure is a concern.
Common Questions
FAQ — LAMINATE FLOORING INSTALLATION
Is laminate flooring worth it in 2025?
For budget-conscious renovations, rentals, and rooms that don't need real hardwood, modern AC4–AC5 laminate is excellent value. For waterproof needs, LVP is usually the better choice.
How much does laminate cost to install in Kelowna?
Labour typically runs $1.50–$3.50 per square foot for laminate in the Kelowna area. Materials range $1–$5/sq ft depending on brand and wear rating.
Can laminate go over existing flooring?
Yes, often — over vinyl, hardwood, tile, or concrete as long as it's flat, clean, and dry. Carpet must come up first.
