WEST KELOWNA — HERRINGBONE FEATURE FLOOR

THE CHALLENGE

Dining room and entry needed a feature floor that would be the focal point of the home. Client had seen herringbone in a magazine but every contractor she'd called either declined the job or quoted 3× normal hardwood pricing.

THE SOLUTION

Solid white oak hand-laid in a 45° herringbone pattern, then site-finished with a custom dark walnut stain and three coats of waterborne polyurethane. Took longer than a standard install, but came in well below other quotes because we don't panic-price unfamiliar work.

THE RESULT

Showstopper floor that sets the tone for the entire main level. Client said the floor "made the house feel like a different price bracket."
