BASEMENT FLOORING KELOWNA

Basements have unique flooring demands — concrete subfloors, moisture from below, and temperature swings between heated and unheated seasons. The wrong floor fails fast. Here's what actually works.

FAQ — BASEMENT FLOORING

WHAT'S THE BEST FLOORING FOR A BASEMENT?

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is the most-installed basement floor in the Okanagan. 100% waterproof, dimensionally stable through humidity swings, and comfortable. Epoxy is a great option for workshop or gym basements.

CAN I PUT HARDWOOD IN A BASEMENT?

No — solid hardwood will fail. Engineered hardwood is occasionally OK in fully finished, climate-controlled basements over a moisture barrier, but LVP almost always outperforms it for the cost.

DO I NEED A MOISTURE BARRIER UNDER BASEMENT FLOORING?

For LVP and laminate over concrete, yes — a 6-mil poly vapour barrier is standard. We include this in every basement install.
